Email from “Sweet Life” writer/director with more DVD details!

Rocco Simonelli saw my post about his film and sent me a very touching email about it this evening. Check out more DVD details straight from the source!

Hello, I’m Rocco Simonelli, and I wrote and directed the excruciatingly long awaited THE SWEET LIFE, and I just wanted to thank you for the substantial post you’ve put up about its impending release. I’m happy to report that Synapse has done a terrific job with the DVD presentation, the menu graphics are really wonderful (don’t navigate away from the Main Menu too quickly, because the photos there cycle through some nice images), the MAKING-OF FEATURETTE has some great footage of Joan working as well as having fun on set, and there’s a very sexy outtake of her in the OUTTAKES section.

And as anyone who’s been fortunate enough to see the film at festivals can tell you, her performance in the film is a hoot! I think true Jettheads will be pleased. Let me also say that working with Joan and Kenny Laguna has been one of the best experiences of my life. They could not have been more decent, generous or helpful.

And thanks again to you, Born2bJetthead, whoever you are.

Best,
Rocco Simonelli

No Rocco, thank you for reading and taking the time to talk to us fans! I can’t wait to finally see this!

After YEARS of waiting, “The Sweet Life” comes to DVD!

Robert Pattinson’s fans (including me) are twitching like a smoker on a trans-Atlantic flight waiting for news about Bel Ami, the film based on the Guy De Maupassant novel that Rob filmed over a year ago. As of this writing, the (understandably) restless fans still don’t have a firm release date, and don’t even know if it will be released in theaters or go straight to DVD. But stay strong, PattinAngels, PattinSluts, RobHoors, and Rob… what the heck are you called?* The Jettheads have you BEAT.  (*I say that like I don’t know. See how I did that?) Ahem.

On Tuesday, July 12, 2011, Synapse Films will release The Sweet Life, a film co-starring JOAN JETT that started filming sometime in 2001 and completed in 2003. (When Joan had a buzzcut. Yeah. THAT long ago.) Continue reading
