“Video of The Week” has been updated in the left-hand sidebar. I’m sorry this is later than usual, but I had a heck of a day yesterday.
My mom and I had to take Duncan, our 14-year-old orange tabby, to the vet to be put to sleep. He was very sick and we didn’t want to put him through months of tests and treatments. I will miss him terribly, but he brought us great joy for 14 years. I named him after Duncan MacLeod from the Highlander.
In Duncan’s memory, I found a cute cat video on YouTube set to “Bad Reputation.” (Source) It is not Joan Jett’s version, and I can’t figure out who it is. Google is not helping me today. If you know, please tell me in the comments. I have ruled out The Dollyrots from the Endless Bummer soundtrack and Avril Lavigne. In my research, I found a disturbing number of websites and videos that play Joan Jett’s version of Bad Reputation but attribute it to The Donnas or Letters to Cleo. So far, I haven’t been able to confirm if either of those two bands has ever covered this song. It’s driving me crazier than a cat chasing a flashlight beam on the floor.
UPDATE: My friends over at The Sinners Message Board came through on the Bad Reputation version used in this video. It’s by Halfcocked, and it’s from the Shrek soundtrack. The Blackhearts’ version was used in the movie, but not on the soundtrack. Thanks guys!
