“I am Joan Jett, and I am a Vegetarian.”
On November 4, Iggy Pop presented Joan with the Nanci Alexander Activist Award at a gala event in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the vegan restaurant Sublime. The award is named after the restaurant’s owner, who also founded the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida. At the event, Joan unveiled her first print ad for PETA.
The ad premiered on Billboard, and features Joan next to the blurb, “A meatless diet saves animals from suffering, combats environmental destruction and is better from my health.”

Too bad there’s no video. I would have loved to hear Joan’s and Iggy’s speeches!
