Enzo, bassist for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, celebrates his birthday today!
Enzo has been in The Blackhearts since the late 90’s, and I love him. He’s a quiet guy, and his biography is suspiciously missing from all of Joan’s websites. I’ve only met him once, but I think he’s sweet. (He was kind enough to give me a hug the night Sandy West died.)
Before The Blackhearts, he was in a band called Speed McQueen and released a CD in 1997. You can occasionally find copies on eBay. There are a couple of Buy It Now auctions HERE and HERE now.
Enzo is also in The Public Offenders with Blackheart lead guitarist Dougie Needles (listen to their music here), and, most recently, he joined Blackheart drummer Thommy Price and members of The New York Dolls and The Dead Boys to form Batusis. Check out their MySpace page, their Facebook page, and their debut 4-track EP on Smog Veil Records.
I don’t know much else about Enzo, other than I love his contribution to The Blackhearts. That’s the important stuff, though, isn’t it?
Enzo, happy birthday dude. And thanks again for that hug. 🙂
Happy birthday, Enzo P!
I met him at my second show in Toppenish, last month. He was such a nice person, signed my DVD even though he wasn’t in the band when it was filmed. I love it even more that he did that. Shows class:)
I’m a east coast italian girl, so I gotta give a shout out for paisans!
Love this tribute, by the way:)
Thanks! That was very nice of him, indeed.
