Iggy and the Stooges are re-releasing their 1973 album Raw Power with a mother lode of cool extras. The ‘Deluxe Edition’ includes a 7-inch booklet containing essays and testimonials from Joan Jett, Henry Rollins, Lou Reed, and others.

The ‘Deluxe Edition’ is due out April 27th. There will also be a ‘Legacy Edition’ out on April 13th, but that version won’t include the essay booklet.

The ‘Deluxe Edition’ includes unreleased songs, a DVD, and more. Read more about what each edition includes HERE and HERE.

The first song on Raw Power is “Search and Destroy”–check it out:

Joan Jett and the Blackhearts covered The Stooges’ “I Wanna Be Your Dog” (from their 1969 album The Stooges) on the 1988 Up Your Alley album. I wish she’d start performing that one again!
