Kristen Stewart talks Joan Jett in Interview Magazine

KStewartFans has scans of the October Interview Magazine HERE.

Here is just one of the quotes that talk about Joan–check out the magazine for more:

HOPPER: … What’s Runaways about?
STEWART: It’s the story of the forming of Joan Jett’s band The Runaways. I play Joan Jett. I came off of New Moon, and I had two weeks before I was going to start The Runaways, which was insane because we actually play the music in the film. We prerecorded the songs. Dakota sings, and I sing on a few, and there are long performances in the film. But we needed time to know how to be these people. If I didn’t get Joan Jett right, I’d be put on a cross. And maybe I didn’t get her right. [laughs]

I am getting anxious waiting for this movie! Part of me is dying to know what songs they chose to include, but I don’t want to know until I see it. There are certain songs that I think are must-haves. If I discover that they left one of them out, I’ll be disappointed before I even see the film, and that would suck. So I’m going to keep my thoughts on that to myself until after the movie comes out.

And personally, I am more worried about how they will portray Sandy West’s drumming than whether or not Kristen can swagger like Joan. Getting that wrong would be an epic fail. You can lip sync vocals and do wide shots to fake the guitar, but you can’t fake good drumming. At least I don’t think you can. I’ve never made a movie and I can’t play any instruments, so what do I know.

But I’m trying not to worry about anything too much because Joan was there the whole time and I’m sure they all thought of all that.

The anticipation is killing me! Mostly in a good way, though.
